HUMAN KIND
This tulle portrait series honours the heroic healthcare workers from around the world, who’s strength and courage to care for others in the face of such vulnerability, is truly remarkable. In these works, the idea of a strength forged from fragility is expressed literally and metaphorically via the process of manipulating the delicate material into form. Collectively, I hope this series will represent a global ‘portrait’ of humanity’s greatest qualities, especially those of strength, courage and kindness, as demonstrated by these inspiring individuals.

If you are, or know of a frontline healthcare worker who would like to be put forward for this project, please submit photos and details via the form below.
Please note that while all submissions will be considered, the ultimate intention is to select and include health workers from as many different countries as possible to represent a ‘Global Portrait’.
I will publish each portrait as it is completed, introducing each person by their name, hospital and country where they work, via my social media channels. Additionally, I will invite each selected individual to ‘meet’ via a casual video call which will give us a chance to connect and talk about this moment in time.
My hope is that the works will be exhibited together in the future and I will endeavour to find ways in which the series can further benefit relevant causes too. While the list of people contributing to our safety at this time spans many sectors, I will be focussing these portraits on the frontline doctors, nurses and care workers.
I look forward to receiving your submissions!
Thank you,
Benjamin
